Management Workshops are held at The Spokane Regional Business Center (SRBC), 801 W. Riverside Avenue, Suite 444, Spokane, WA 99201, unless noted otherwise.

Attend Workshops

SCORE offers low-cost business training workshops and seminars for both start-up and in-business entrepreneurs. Workshops and seminars are open to all adults over the age of 13. Training topics range from: writing a business plan, record keeping basics, principles of marketing, and understanding business financials depending on the current needs of our business community. Workshops also offer an opportunity to interact with other local small business owners.

Many workshop presenters are practicing professionals including accountants, lawyers, Internet and technology experts, bankers and business managers from diverse businesses and industries. Other facilitators are SCORE counselors who have years of industry and business experience.

On paid workshops, your place is not confirmed until payment is received. To secure a seat at a workshop, register online by clicking the date of the workshop or the series. You will be taken to a secure server. You can also fill out the completed form and mail it along with your check, to our office.

The charge for late registration has is $10. If you register at the door, it will cost you $10 more. This is necessary for planning purposes. Our current location has less space than we had on the 2nd floor. Thank you for your understanding.

Entry Level Class - part of SCORE's new workshop series on Social Media and Business

This is a hands on workshop.  Please bring your web friendly device: laptop, tablet, cell phone, etc.

 

This workshop is specifically tailored to people just starting out with social media and social networking. This is an entry level, or beginner seminar. Sites we will explore include Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. What you'll learn in this workshop is how to become comfortable using your own Facebook profile, how to set up a Twitter account, and how to use LinkedIn.

This entry level class is a fit if you have just started your personal Facebook account but have no idea how to use it, if you don't have a Twitter account and if you don't have a LinkedIn profile.

Social Media for Small Business 101 helps you build a foundation for using social media for your business. The key to being successful on social media sites is to understand how they work on the personal side, before exploring how to use them for business.

This workshop is the second in a series of seminars aimed to walk users through the process of learning social media and the applications for business. This course builds upon the 101 seminar by beginning the process of introducing the business tools offered by Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

This workshop is a fit for you if you don’t have a Facebook Business Page, of if you have just set one up and need help understanding how to use it. It is also a fit if you are unsure how to set up a Twitter account and/or LinkedIn profile for your business.

I am an experienced tax professional with over 20 years of preparing taxes and assisting clients with resolving tax issues.  As an Enrolled Agent (EA),  I have been licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS, in all 50 states, by the United States Treasury.

I help taxpayers by representing them before the IRS and/or State taxing agencies to resolve tax problems.  Representation can involve; filing of tax returns, addressing audits, releasing bank levies or wage garnishments, preparing penalty abatement's or an offer in compromise.

It is my commitment to assist taxpayers in resolving tax problems, as well as the filing of their tax returns in a professional and confidential manner for a reasonable fee.

The workshop will provide an introduction to identifying and protecting a business’s intellectual property.  Topics will include how to conduct a cost benefit analysis to determine when protection costs are justified.  Patents, trademarks, copyrights and other types of intellectual property will be explained together with the methods used to protect them.

The workshop participant will learn what can be protected, what protections apply, and how to budget protection costs to determine whether the costs are affordable and justified.
